How do I become a member?
If you’re interested in becoming a member of the Frederick Model Aircraft Club, please visit our membership page to submit an application.
Are guests and spectators allowed at the field?
- Yes! Spectators and guest flyers are always welcome to our field!
- Guests MUST be sponsored by a current club member.
- The guest flyer MUST have membership with AMA for insurance purposes.
- The sponsoring member MUST act as a spotter for the guest anytime they are flying.
- The sponsoring member SHOULD NOT fly while the guest is flying.
- The guest must be briefed on the “Frederick Model Aircraft Club – Field Rules”
- The guest must be familiar with the “AMA National Model Aircraft Safety Code”
- SPECTATORS: All non-AMA members must remain out of the flight line and pit areas at all times
Does the club offer flight training?
Yes! We have club trainers and buddy boxes ready to help you out. Please contact our training coordinator.
What are your club’s safety policies?
Members and guest pilots should review and understand the “Frederick Model Aircraft Club – Field Rules.”
New members are required to have an in-person safety briefing at the field to clarify flying and runway boundaries prior to flying. If you have questions, please contact the club safety officer.
