History of the Frederick Model Aircraft Club AMA#331
The purpose of
this organization is to promote the building and safe operation of model
aircraft and to promote acceptance and good will toward this sport/hobby
through educational involvement in the community.
The Frederick Model Aircraft Club was formed on December 1, 1939 and originally named the Frederick Gas Model Club.
The club is the oldest known model airplane club in Maryland and one of the oldest in the United States.
It is also one of the earliest clubs that joined the AMA in approximately 1968-9 and continues to operate today.
